Food: As shown in the video review, is rare that we have multiple members that give their food a 10. That’s what happened here! Overall the food was tasty and a common theme that we all enjoyed was the generous portions that were given on most plates.

Atmosphere: We enjoy the choice of being able to sit outside and enjoy nature or go inside where there is music. Since we were outside, we’ll speak about that experience. There is the occasional speeding car that drove through that was slightly annoying but that’s really their fault so overall it was a pleasant experience!

Customer Service: This is the area that we felt could use the most improvement. We felt that our table wasn’t given enough attention which lead to us having to ask for everything that we need as opposed to those things being done automatically. They were things like silverware, refills, and answering questions we had. With time, maybe more staff will be added, helping in this area but as it stands, we would say that could do better

Price: The food is a bit pricey but as we mentioned before in the food section, you get generous portions. It all evens out to match the higher prices which is more than I can say for a lot of other vegan restaurants that have the same price but give smaller portions. If I had to pick the highlight of this restaurant, it would be that you really feel like you got what you paid for in terms of food and portions. Going forward, this is something that more vegan restaurants need to work on implementing.

Overall: Overall: It is above average. Casa would be a must try (Rating of 9 or above) but the customer service holds it back currently reaching that. In due time though if that’s corrected then they could easily graduate to must try!

Nuno’s Tacos & Vegmex Grill Review (Richardson)

Rating 8.2

On this post, we have a review of Nuno’s Tacos & Vegmex Grill! Reading not your style? Watch the video review below!

Food: We all thought that the food overall was good. When measuring it with other vegan restaurants that we have been to, it’s a little above average. One of us did order a dish that they couldn’t give because they were out of certain ingredients. He ordered something else and liked it but it is worth noting that they didn’t have something on the menu available. It all goes well, over time they can keep better inventory.

Customer service: It was easy to make a reservation and when we got there, the reserved tables were ready. This is a huge plus! They also made sure to keep checking on us threw out the meetup. Overall the customer service was better than a lot of other restaurants we’ve been to. The only thing that brings this area down is at the time of this review, they do not have a website. It has become the norm to have a website if you’re a restaurant and the fact that they do not have one does take away from this area.

Atmosphere: The music in the background paints the theme of a Mexican restaurant. The only difference is, its vegan. The only negative to the atmosphere is that it is a smaller restaurant and with that being the case, it was a tad bit too loud. Nothing that brakes the overall experience though.

Pricing: When compared to other vegan restaurants, the price and portions are about average. Not better or worse.

Overall: It is a little above average. If you’re in the area and you have the munchies, it couldn’t hurt to swing by and see what they have to offer!

Vegan Food House Review (Oak Cliff)

Rating: 9.2

Website: https://www.veganfoodhouse.com/

The opening of the Vegan food house has probably been the most anticipated vegan restaurant to open this year. With a popular and very successful vegan menu at Da Munchies, the creator Elizabeth Anderson branched off to make her own full vegan restaurant. Ever since then, we’ve been waiting for to open, having the consent reminder of good the Jackfruit nuggets and cauliflower wings tasted at Da munchies (See our review of Da Munchies here). When they opened this spring, it was a no brainier that we had to swing by and i’l glad to say they delivered on that hype! Obviously we enjoyed ourselves at the Vegan Food House. The review is simply the details of that enjoyment. With that being said, lets go into those details!

Food: The theme if this restaurant seems to be vegan junk food and it very much delivers on that front. The entrees of all our dishes were tasty and creative. The only we felt could use a little more attention is the fries as they seem a little too soft.

Customer Service: Overall very good customer service. The most appealing thing we all took note of was that our food was brought out in Avery good time frame. Water is available for refills anytime you want and is self served. The beverages can be bought at the front. This creates a self serving system eliminating the need to wait for a waiter to come and bring them. When ever you’re ready, you can do it. This is a nice change of pace since we have a big group and sometimes it takes the staff a while to do small things like that at restaurants. Since it is self serving, we very much enjoyed the ability to serve our drinks ourselves and not have to wait.

Atmosphere: When you think Vegan Food House, you may not think it is in an actually house! It is very homey and cosy inside. There music playing at a modest level in the background. Enough to set the mood but not loud enough to disrupt conversations. We’ve yet to encounter this homey time of vibe in a restaurant so it made for a nice change of pace. We found it to our liking.

Pricing: We found that the pricing felt appropriate for what we got. Both in portions and quality. When measuring it against other vegan restaurants, it’s not cheaper but it’s not more expensive either.

Overall the Vegan Food House had a lot of hype surrounding it and ultimately delivered. This makes them a strong contender for us to return to! For more details, checkout the video review below.

Itso Vegan Review (Grand Prairie)

20190330_184126.jpg

Starting off 2019, people started hearing about an all vegan restaurant in grand prairie that would be opening in January offering awesome vegan food. That restaurant was Itso Vegan. After a soft opening in January, they full opened the next month. Since then, you most likely heard mixed reviews. Ranging from the food to sometimes them running out of food in the later hours. Are these things true or are people just doing what they’re best at, gossiping? This is Elijah with the veggie outers and I will be going into our experience when we paid them a visit. Our score is in the video review below.

Food: I am very glad to say this. We had an awesome time when it came to food! The food had a soul food theme and vibe to it that served us well. The MVP would have to be the dishes that seemed to mimic seafood. It brought back memories for some of us back when we used to eat catfish. Up until then, I had never had a vegan version of catfish and I love every second of it. I would keep going on but  the pictures in the video review speak for themselves.

Customer Service: This is probably the most controversial category since you have most likely heard everything under the sun about this. They were very vigilant at our table and checked on us regularly. I have to admit that they checked on us a little more than other restaurants do which is a plus in my book. Unfortunately a few things occurred and they need to be mentioned. When arranging reservation the day before, we were informed that they don’t do reservations but they appreciate a heads up as far as when a big group is coming. This is unacceptable based on current restaurant standards and it needs to change in the near future. Since this was the case our group was split up with a couple sitting at a table dividing us in the beginning. This issue would not occur if a reservation was made and spot could have just been reserved. We should also note that they did run out of food, but most of us had eaten at that point so we were not effected to dramatically.

Atmosphere: Very laid back with with a mix of smooth, R& B and hip hop. It was a little loud which would make sense since they were filled to maximum capacity but it wasn’t loud enough to where we could not hear each other.

Price: We all agreed that for a vegan restaurant, the prices were about average. The same is true for the portions that were given on the plates.

In summary, we very much enjoyed our selves at Itso Vegan. There were a few hiccups with customer service but most of them are linked to them being a new restaurant. If all goes well, these issues will be fixed over time. We definitely recommend Itso Vegan and they are a strong contender for us to come back to.

Sankofa Kitchen (Duncanville)

We enjoyed ourselves at Sankofa Kitchen. Seeing as we have been here once before, the only thing that has changed is they now have the impossible and beyond meat burger available for their vegan menu. There were some small hiccups with the customer service but overall the experience was smooth. For details about the restaurant, checkout our 1st review here. You can see our video review for details on what food we got and what our individual ratings were.
